Sports, Creativity, and more at Summer Camp!

The most creative and sportiest summer campers around!

A quick note from Pennie Merrick on Facebook, regarding Sports and Creativity week: My kids are in the living room right now singing songs they learned there. I can’t thank you enough for giving my babies a safe and happy place to come to summer camp. They love you guys and the girls are already planning next summer!!!

When one hears about “Sports and Creativity,” a few images normally spring to mind. When it comes to sports – we often think of Olympians triumphantly raising gold medals over their heads, or perhaps a college basketball team weeping after a hard fought defeat. When it comes to creativity, we normally think of those people who seem “more creative” than the rest of us – the great artists, or improvisational musicians, or comedians.

During our summer camp, we try to envision how these pursuits fit into our Christian community in such a way that builds up everyone. How can we ensure that the emphasis on our sporting events is not who won, but how well sportsmanship governed the event? How can we be creative about how we incorporate creativity into our day to day routine, from the first meal of the day to closing worship?

Well, you needn’t worry! Our campers during Sports and Creativity week took a retreat from their normal lives to explore the depths of sportsmanship and creativity in a week of fun and adventure! Here are some pictures of the wonderful kids in action – hope to see you all back at summer camp next year!

Now that summer camp is over, you don’t have to worry! We still have retreat facilities throughout the year, so please contact us if you’d like to come and stay!
