Frequently Asked Questions

Highlights for 2019:

  • NEW Day Kamp: 7 Weekly Sessions create kamp opportunities for younger children and youth unable or not wanting to stay overnight!
  • NEW Health Requirement: No proof of physical within past 12 months required for either Day Kamp or Sleep-Over Kamp!
  • NEW Transportation Options for Day Kamp and Sleep-Over Kamp Programs: We will work on your behalf to recruit volunteers and churches in your area to provide a safe, reliable means of transportation to kamp and back home again.
  • NEW Sleep-Over Kamp Programs: A new take on an old favorite. Years ago Kampers could enjoy a two-week session of Outrageous, staying over the weekend. Instead, we are excited to introduce a new program called Ridiculous. Youth ages 12 years and older can now sign up for both Ridicuous and Outrageous as a two-week session called Boomerang!
  • Returning kamper families will be excited to learn that swim tests no longer take place on Sunday afternoons during check-in! We will conduct swim tests during kamp on Mondays (weather permitting, of course–safety first).

Frequently Asked Questions:

Vanderkamp is not a conversion camp and is open and welcoming to ALL youth. See overview of this year’s curriculum above. We strive to live, learn, play and pray together in a Christian community of peace, love, and acceptance of one another while demonstrating the values of caring, respect and responsibility for ourselves, for others, and for the world around us.
